Web Server Step 4 #3

/etc/apache2/httpd.conf doesn't seem to exist as a file for me? Admittedly checked and turns out I'm using Ubunutu 13.04 tho - so that may be it???

Yes, that is correct. /etc/apache2/httpd.conf is for user configurations, which the main Apache2 configuration file /etc/apache2/apache2.conf includes. IIRC, it is either empty, or doesn't exist, on a fresh Apache install.
