How to use dragula for crossword like app? #76

We are working on ionic mobile app which is crosswords like app. User has a list of dragable chars (full alphabet) and have to place char into cell in a grid. It has to replace value of the cell not add/create a new cell. Is there a way how to accomplish this with dragula?

I have this same question, and "the docs" did not answer it, in any way, shape or form.
