There is a widget added to base game called prefs state, ctrl+leftclick firestate button to save the desired state for production, per unit.
I cant find any documentation in-game about it, maybe there is but im blind then. :)
Yeah, I use it, but I'm talking for everyone by default.
Approved by the GDT. We will have to revisit this once https://github.com/beyond-all-reason/Beyond-All-Reason/pull/1972 has been implemented, which unifies the attack and self-destruct explosions.
Description
Currently, crawling bombs are one of the least popular units on all amps. They are set on Fire at Will by default, which makes them detonate as soon as they're a meter away from the target. This makes them much less effective than if they were on Hold Fire, as they don't get to walk up directly against the target - or even between multiple targets! You cannot self destruct micro for effectively double damage, since it detonates as soon as an enemy gets in range.
Why?
Maybe if the default settings are making them worse than they should be, for the average player. Hold fire being default might make them more legit and get players to use them more. Most players don't realize that the damage difference between the modes is pretty drastic.
