Unresponsive Website #308

Here were my observations using a Google Chrome browser on a Macbook Pro laptop.

  1. Lagging- At first, my main issue was that every time I tried switching to the web tab from the mobile tab when trying to connect my wallet, it goes back to the mobile tab. So I ended up refreshing the site and that led me to the second issue.
  2. "Connect Wallet" was unresponsive- After refreshing, the connect wallet button (choosing "Metamask" precisely) became unresponsive. Each time I select it, it freezes a little and then goes back to the previous page. I kept on refreshing the page hoping for a positive outcome but to no avail. Until I eventually gave up.
  3. Website noticeably uses an unnecessary amount of memory- As mentioned earlier, I had to constantly refresh the tab to try to get to connect to my wallet and I noticed that whenever i did, my fan kick started, hinting that the RAM was being heavily used. I closed all the tabs except the Beyond tab just to confirm, and yes, I confirmed. This, to me was shocking considering the site was just a page long, but that was my observation. Also my Macbook is a 16gb 512gb core i5, so it should've handled it well.
  4. These issues weren’t able to let me test the actual bridging for more observations, hopefully they can be resolved and I can test the features better. I've already claimed some testnet faucets which I would try out when I can do so.
  5. If a link can be added to the testnet site directly linking users to where they can obtain testnet tokens, it'll really go a long way. With hacks and thefts on the rise, someone may fall victim of clicking the wrong link to get the test token, thereby losing their valuables. So asides the fact that having it directly on the testnet site saves time, it's also advisable from a security point of view.

Overall I liked how simple the interface of the website was, straightforward and to the point. New users shouldn't have any problem navigating the website. Good luck to the team behind this incredible project.
