@petdance Is this relevant anymore, considered how much freedom we give users in ack2?
I'm thinking that it's even MORE necessary, because "Directories ignored by default" is a lie if we include ackrc, etc.
Ah, my eyes apparently missed the 'by default' part. So that makes a lot more sense! Should we should just the defaults, or the customizations as well? (In separate sections, I mean)
ack --help
no longer shows that directory list.
Help should not take user's settings into account. It should be effectively --no-env.
I ran ack --help and got
Directories ignored by default: autom4te.cache, blib, _build, .bzr, .cdv, cover_db, CVS, _darcs, ~.dep, ~.dot, .git, .hg, ~.nib, nytprof, .pc, ~.plst, RCS, SCCS, _sgbak and .svn
That nytprof is in there because of my .ackrc settings, not part of ack itself.
