I cannot find this anywhere on the github page. Is there support for RGB + W LEDs? If so, how can this be enabled?

Nevermind, this fork of a fork works stably on a raspberry pi B with nodejs 10! https://github.com/DaVarga/node-rpi-sk6812-native
