Changed default dma to the default dma of the native library ( Is that sensible? ) I've also added strip type to new-api.js input args for my testing

Hey Paul! Thank you so much for helping out here. I was rushing on and manually included all of your suggestions into the latest version. Hope you don't mind that I will just close this as now obsolete.
