New York Times support (Brightcove) #155

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to NY Times home page
2. Try to grab URL from video (I used Flasblock)
3. Paste URL into gfv command line

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected download to begin, instead I received error message (see attached
debug file).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
verions 1.23 on Ubuntu 10.4

Please provide any additional information below.

Sorry, I don't think that URL uniquely identifies the video. You need either a
lineupId or videoId parameter. If I copy a URL flashblock gives me in the
c.brightcove.com form it doesn't work.

It should be possible to add support for NYTimes, it will need some custom
reference extraction though (e.g. like done for about.com in About.pm), so
changing the ticket to adding support for NYTimes.

Got a similar debug output issue with the following command (gfv 1.23, OS XP +
activeperl: 5.8.9()
get_flash_videos http://vod.fxnetworks.com/watch/terriers/608800083001
--subtitles -d

The above video has also closed captions so I guess the --subtitles option
should be supported as well.
