I just noticed that the commenting feature in the ratings widget (and the ratings widget itself) have been getting a lot more usage in the last few months than they used too. That kind of social stuff adds stickiness.

Perhaps there's a ruby gem/plugin out there we could add someday to do the same thing but without the abysmal load time drag caused by google's.

sidenote: i created a new label "v2.1" along with this issue. I think of the pending relaunch as the v2.0 version of the site, so the 2.1 tag means the next release/update after the relaunch.
