BDB Pioneer 1 fails to make Munar orbit #5

From an ideal ∆v-map transfer to the moon in RSS, it takes about 820 m/s to capture and circularize in low orbit. For the Mun in 6.4x, the corresponding figure is 900 m/s. Turns out the Mun orbits proportionally closer (20 Kerbin radii compared to 60 Earth radii), so we have a cheaper TLI but more relative speed at intercept.

Out of the box, Pioneer 1's built-in capture solid gives a ∆v in the low 600s. This is probably enough to get an elliptical orbit if we can get a low flyby with the motor pointed close enough to retrograde, but it's unforgiving of a distant flyby or a poor angle.
