Character to use in settings is not stored

TEA Version?
1.1.1 (svn build)
SMF Version?
2 rc4

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. entering char id & api in settings
2. click get chars, produces some errors, but shows the charnames in dropdown 
box
3. no matter wich char i click and "save" - it always jumps back to char #1 in 
the dropdown box

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
error free list of chars & saved which one to use. error msg:

at top and then 4 times:

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
