bggo / Zmbkpose

The zmbkpose tool is a shell script that does hot backup and hot restore of ZCS Opensource accounts, GPL(OPENSOURCE). It can run from any host in the net, which means that it can be set on a backup server already existent.

hi,

i am verry pleased with the rewrite pruposal but in the master branche there is a restore option called --RestoreonAccount. This option can be used to restore an account to an other account name. i mis this option in the rewrite proposal.

Will this ever be build inside the rewrite pruposal? Now whenever i restore the acoount i have to clean my hole mailbox again, because i only need 1 mail from my restore?

greetings chris

Sorry for not answering earlier. I know my delay is unacceptable, however I can not dedicate more of my time to this project.

The restoration is on the mail account in which the backup was performed. There is no option to restore to another account. At least for now. This means that if you restore to an existing account, then this will be completed with the emails that are in the backup, and do not exist in the account.

If you do not want this, my suggestion is that: 1) rename the account from the administration panel zimbra 2) restore the backup. This will create the email account with the original name again. 3) The user enters the account restored, search emails interest group them in a folder and perform backup of that folder from the account preferences. 4) delete the account restored 5) rename the account from step 1 post to its original name 6) The user enters the email account, and import from zimbra preferences, backup done previously with the emails of interest in step 3.
