Hi Bing,

I saw your excellent talk at ASHG - this is super cool work! I'm excited to test out your code.

A former colleague worked on something similar with some success; the code is here: https://github.com/mklarqvist/tachyon . Marcus also wrote a columnar store as an experiment for genomics data: https://github.com/mklarqvist/pil . Just dropping it here in case there is anything useful to pull from it. I would be happy to chat more but no need to keep this issue open beyond for discussion :)

Very cool to see what seems like a good idea implemented in a useful way - well done!
