What steps will reproduce the problem?
Sometimes I want to use VLC on my laptop when I don't have an Internet
connection available. This works if I use tethering on my phone (in my case I
use WiFi for tethering). However, I first have to find out the IP address of my
laptop and then manually configure it as a server on the phone. Scanning does
not find the laptop, and the WiFi tethering app assigns different IPs each time
I use it.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It would be helpful if the scan found all tethered devices - at least over
WiFi, maybe also over Bluetooth and USB. What would be even better: if there is
just one tethered device running VLC, auto-select that.
What version of VLC Remote are you using?
0.5.5
What version of VLC are you using?
2.0.3 (bundled with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS)
What version of Android are you using?
ICS
Which Android device are you using?
Nexus S with CyanogenMod 9.10.
