Battery Not Fully Charging #31

@bhunt2 @hautruong36 @Kekahuna @spesialstyrker The 4th cell on the battery is not getting charged. 1st, 2nd and 3rd cell is charged to 3.7V but the 4th Cell is stuck at ~0.88V. The total voltage doesn't go over ~12.0V

I hooked up the drone, the motor turns on but it sounds "weak". We haven't flown yet with propellers with the current battery condition.

@sabmah @hautruong36 Hau knows the possible solution to this. This is unfortunate as I did state at the beginning that you guys needed to make sure that the battery is always left fully charged when in storage or you might ruin the battery. The cells are considered fully charged when they are around 4.2V. Just reaching 3.7 isn't good enough. If I remember correctly Hau as run into this issue and he has just had to reset the charge multiple times for it to finally take the charge. If you guys keep letting the battery go uncharged it will crap out on us and then its $100 to get a new one.

The problem that I have faced, when I first charged the battery, was that battery voltage level was low and I have to fiddle around to get it to charge. Since then I kept the battery charged. I have also informed everyone about the issue I faced, and suggested to keep the battery charged. Sabin is facing a different problem. The last cell stayed at .88V instead of ~4.7V. I think it could be dead and it doesn't hold charge anymore.

The battery is $82.99 on pulse website: http://www.pulsebattery.com/plu25-50004-pulse-lipo-5000mah-14-8v-25c-ultra-power-series.html

It would take sometimes for the battery to get here, but it would be a little too late since we only have a little over a week left. There is an alternative, and that is tammies hobbies. I looked on there website, and looks like they carry pulse brand but not the exact one we are looking for.

Tammies Hobbies has alternative for $73.99: http://www.tammieshobbies.com/collections/batteries/products/pulse-4100mah-14-8v-35c

Comparing the specs:

25C and 35C is charge rate. It doesn't effect much in our case. 5000mAh vs. 4100mAh: this would effect the flight time of the drone, but if we keep it fully charged, it should have enough power to flight the drone as the original.

@hautruong36 I bought that battery at Tammies Hobbies so they should have it there. If they don't, you are correct, the other batter will work but with less flight time. You could call them and ask if the battery is dead or if there may be a way to resurrect it.

Alternative battery was purchased at Tammies Hobbies and it works as expected. Closing this issue
