Passage mismatch bug #295

Closed warpok closed 5 years ago

warpok commented 5 years ago

I am finding it impossible for Bibledit to allow me in the client or in the cloud to delete the \s1 blank line after verse 3. My change preference for chapter editors is 100%, but still it gives a passage mismatch no matter how I try to delete the \s1. Screenshot_2019-07-18_05-07-03

This needs to be looked into as to why at all this does not work. Because with the setting that you describe, it should absolutely work.

I am not allowed to paste in a correctly formatted footnote in verse 33, even though I have the limit at 100%. Screenshot_2019-07-18_23-34-20

May I have an export of this book of Genesis, and a copy of the footnote you are intending to insert? That might help me tracking down the issue.

This is an awful bug! I can't edit the text in the client or in the cloud! When I try to edit the text with a plain text editor in the bibledit/Bibles subdirectory, I can paste in the text. But somehow the program realizes that the text has been changed in a forbidden way. Then in Bibledit, If I try to edit the footnote I just pasted in via a plain text editor, I quickly loose the footnote and again get the passage mismatch error.

warpok commented 5 years ago

I thought that maybe dailing back the percent of change allowed might wake up the program that I was not over x percent. But even then, bibledit will not allow the smallest change.

Given that this problem is happening in the Cloud directly, I think that it is a problem within the Cloud program.

03_Kejadian.txt In Gen 31:33, the footnote I want to paste in and then edit is: \f + \fr 31:33 \fk Kemah Zilpa dan Bilha \ft Dalam bahasa Ibrani, secara harfiah ‘kemah kedua budak perempuan’. Zilpa budaknya Lea, dan Bilha budaknya Rahel. Lihat 29:24, 29; 30:4, 9.\f*

Here is a fragment:

\v 42 However, Jacob did not put the branches in front of the unhealthy animals. Thus the animals born to unhealthy mothers became the property of Laban, and the animals born to healthy mothers became the property of Jacob.
\v 43 In this way, Jacob became very rich. He had very large herds, male and female servants, camels and donkeys.
31
\s Jacob fled from his uncle Laban
\p
\v 1 One day, Jacob got news that all of the sons of Laban were grumbling against him by saying to one another, “Jacob has taken our father's wealth. He got all of his riches from our father.”

In Genesis 31, the \c is missing, it has 31 only. That is likely the cause of it.

There is a check on issues like this. It would discover a missing chapter in the entire book. Does your Cloud instance automatically run these checks?

warpok commented 5 years ago

Aargh! I know such things! I should have checked that, because I have experienced that before. Sorry for the false alarm! Phil
