Providing a count of downloaded digital products #300

The following enquiry has been received from a potential library user of LCF in Ireland.

Can LCF be used to retrieve a count of eBooks and eAudiobooks downloaded, eMagazine articles or journals accessed and videos viewed?

If the system could return the count broken down by date and hour, and if it could also return a list of barcodes with a timestamp, I imagine this would meet all our statistic-gathering needs. The second set of information would be used to obtain statistics broken down by user category, user age, etc.

The Technical Panel discussed this issue on 6 December. Assuming that the data on downloads were available to an LMS - it might not be, if the data is held on an external ebook delivery platform - there is currently no efficient function within LCF for retrieving reports of this kind, so it is therefore currently out of scope.
