EMBLA sleep example should be reviewed #81

Hi @ChristophePhillips and @CPernet, I have cleaned up and converted the EMBLA example in line with the latest version of the EEG draft at http://bit.ly_bids_eeg. Could you review the organization of the example dataset?

ChristophePhillips commented 6 years ago

Hi @robertoostenveld , Sorry for the delay. Where are those Embla data currently ? Can't find them in this repo. Tx

Hi Chris

it's those data https://github.com/INCF/BIDS-examples/tree/bep006_eeg/eeg_sleep maybe i updated them a bit (https://github.com/CPernet/BIDS-examples/tree/bep006_eeg/eeg_sleep) can't remember -- waiting with Robert to merge my fork

I just checked the data, see #86

@ChristophePhillips, given that sleep data can be more sensitive than other research data (medical background) - will you be able to share the true data (not 0kb as in this repo) somewhere? For example on OSF?

IF the sharing is possible from an ethical standpoint, could you perhaps provide more than one subject and a bit more background on the study as a whole? I think that having sleep eeg as part of our BEP006 examples is great and I'd love to see the example a bit more complete :-)

ChristophePhillips commented 6 years ago

Hi @sappelhoff , To share the data themselves I will have to ask my colleague(s) because I'm not the one in charge of data acquisition. Though I know the data has 'tons' of sleep recordings, the last ones being in EMBLA format. Hopefully one of the recent project includes in its consent form the fact of sharing anonymized data. :-) Could you clarify what you mean with " I'd love to see the example a bit more complete"? Don't hesitate to come back at me if you don't here from me...

Could you clarify what you mean with " I'd love to see the example a bit more complete"?

Currently, the dataset contains only a minimal README, and dataset_description.json. It would already be a good improvement, if you could enter some further information in there Why/Where/To What purpose was the data recorded. Either in freeform text into the README, or as formatted text (see BIDS spec) into the dataset_description.json (best would be to do both).

In addition to that, it would be good to have more than one participant included in the dataset (in my humble opinion).

Thanks for asking your colleagues about the sharing!
