create a separate "entry" to list places where to find datasets #356

page: https://bids-website.readthedocs.io/en/latest/datasets/index.html

We also mention:

Databases such as OpenNeuro.org, LORIS, COINS, XNAT, SciTran, and others will accept and export datasets organized according to BIDS. If you ever plan to share your data publicly (nowadays some journals require this) you can speed up the curation process by using BIDS.

But not necessarily point at where / how to find datasets...

robertoostenveld commented 10 months ago

I think that https://commons.datacite.org and https://datasetsearch.research.google.com should be mentioned.

Remi-Gau commented 5 months ago

Note that there is already an entry for this on the bids starter kit: https://bids-standard.github.io/bids-starter-kit/dataset_examples.html

Other places to mention:

https://registry.datalad.org/overview/?query=metadata%5Bbids_dataset%5D%3A%22name%22+AND+url%3Agin&sort=update-desc

Given that there is already a page on the starter kit I would probably wait for the big rewrite of our webites before creating another section for this.

@Remi-Gau @ericearl is this something that this summer's writing project can handle? we can add a label to flag it

Remi-Gau commented 5 months ago

Yes that should be on the list.

We should try to flag "duplicate" pages when we fins them.

this ticket is too broad.

Damion still to take a look in late October. Ideally - there is an "easy" deliverable by looking at the page (linked above) and look at what can be quickly improved.

more broadly - stuck on: mentor time to prep this for Damion, would go under "nice to have"
