Using xbmc Remote as a monitor and a remote control #409

Hi everyone,

I own an Android touchscreen tablet which I would like to use to control xbmc
(if my tv is switched off) and as a monitor (if my tv is switched on).
The functionalities of this application for controlling xbmc although the tv is
not running are great. The monitor feature could become some better, but I
think monitoring is not the main purpose of the application. Anyway, there
already is a "Now playing" screen which definitely is a monitor feature.

Some more interaction would be great, so here are some suggestions:
1) If I control xbmc on my tv (not by using xbmc remote as remote controller),
xbmcremote automatically switches to "Now playing" as it obviously should not
be used as remote controller this time. I don't know if xbmc triggers your
applicatrion if thre is someone doing something. Alternatively you can realize
it by using a idle timeout. e.g. after 60 seconds idle stime xbmcremote
switches to "Now playing".
2) Landscape mode for the "Nor playing" screen (Ticket
http://code.google.com/p/android-xbmcremote/issues/detail?id=143)
3) If I shutdown xbmc, xbmcremote shuts down the android device as well. This
is helpful if you use your tablet just for being connected to xbmc (like I do).

That are my ideas for the moment. If I have some more ideas I will post them
here. Everyone else who uses this application the way I do: Feel free to add
your suggestions here.

Kind regards
Oliver

Please create a separate issue to each of those points so we can discuss them
separately.
