Have you enabled all the necessary options in the XBMC as it's stated in the #4
of
http://code.google.com/p/android-xbmcremote/wiki/Setup_Instructions_9_11_and_lat
er ?
What is your network setup? Are you using the remote application through WiFi
or 3G, in the local network or from the internet?

It's weird why the X10 is different than the other Android devices. I had the
impression that the livecd is the root of the problem, but it also works for
me. However I have no X10.

Any other X10 user who can confirm this?

I have a HTC Desire and I'm encountering the same problem. Remote control does
not work at all.

Had the same problem on HTC Desire but turned out to be an configuration issue
in XBMC.
Try to check 'System -> Settings -> Network -> Allow programs on other systems
to control XBMC'. Solved the problem for me.

I had this proble also, it turns out that the firewall was blocking the udp
port that the remote control was sending commands to. Check if your firewall is
blocking the UDP port 9777.

I've just managed to solve the issue! The problem caused by checkbox 'Allow
programs on other systems to control XBMC' in network options. My fresh
installation has this option turned off.
sorry for false reporting
