volume controls don't work when the phone's screen is off. #433

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.run the app hit power or wait for screen timeout
2.press hardware volume button
3.nothing

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the xbmc volume change

What version of XBMC Remote are you using?
0.8.4-beta1 build 703

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
Samsung Transform (Stock) Android 2.1

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
10.0 Beta 4 r35068

Please provide any additional information below.
pandora has this functionality, so i know its possible.

We can't overload the system's buttons. That's why there's a feature that 
disables the lock screen when XBMC Remote is running.

No. Once your app loses focus you can't control the buttons.

It can be done, Pandora and many other apps do it. I'll look and see if I can 
find out how to do it,
