Can't connect to Dharma 10.1 webserver on Slackware 13.1 #510

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start XBMC on Slackware 13.1
2. Start XBMC Remote on HTC Legend

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected it to connect and show the library, instead I see an error saying the
connection was refused and tells me to check my settings.

What version of XBMC Remote are you using?
v0.8.6-beta1
Revision 768

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
HTC Legend

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
XBMC 10.1 Stable from Apr. 17/2011
on Slackware 13.1, kernel 2.6.33.4-smp

Please provide any additional information below.
The EventServer works without problems and the HTTP API worked perfectly before
the update to XBMC 10.x. I've tried following instructions for settings I found
on multiple websites, but my XBMC doesn't seem to have any settings involving
the HTTP server anymore, and all the settings allowing control from other
applications and computers are enabled.

Did you get the port right or is the port closed?

Well unless the update from xbmc 9.1 to 10.0 closed the port, it's the correct
one and open.

I don't know much about the package management in Slackware, but based on what
you said that your XBMC doesn't have settings for the HTTP server it sounds
that it's not compiled with the "webserver" flag. You also need microhttpd
installed.

Thank you. I got my package from slackbuilds.org, and it indeed seems they
disabled the webserver option in the build as of version 10.0 for some
reason; it was enabled in the previous version so I didn't even think to
look there.
