Resource Title:

CBC article being purposefully vague about 2 arrests in Toronto pro-Palestinian rallies

[Type of Resource: e.g., Article, Study, Video, Infographic]

News Article

Description:

This article is reporting about 2 arrests made at a pro-Palestinian rally in Toronto. At first glance, nothing look off about this article but let's consider the title "2 men charged after pro-Palestinian rally outside Trudeau event, Toronto police say"...this makes it sounds as if the people charged from the pro-Palestinian side. However, only in the latter part of the article states "Police would not confirm whether the accused were with the pro-Palestinian demonstrators or with the counter-protesters." It is very journalistically irresponsible for CBC (Canada's publicly funded news organization) to write an article implying that pro-Palestinians are the ones that are arrested when it wasn't clear.
