BIGTREETECH Relay V1.2 is an upgrade of the original (BIGTREETECH V1.0). After upgrading, a small MCU was added on the module to make the module more controllable and stable. Besides, we have also increased short circuit detection circuit. After connecting the 5V and GND on the motherboard to the module, if there is a 5V short circuit, the module will immediately power off to prevent damage on the motherboard and the risk of fire caused by short circuit.

BTT Relay V1.2 Welds itself shut in the closed position #35

Can at least "commend" it that it broke in the closed position. Otherwise i had to redo the firmware, or buy a new board right now. Used it for about 5 months. WIthout any heavy use. Worked fine.

I installed a reset momentary switch that pulses and not continuously holds a connection. Afther using this twice during testing it out. The relay welded itself shut in the closed position. Keeping the printer on no mater what is done in the configuration.

I've send emails but am left with a dead device without an anwser.

Wow! I just bought two new but relay and both have the same issue exactly like you describe. In case, refreshing the firmware of one of then fixed the problem... take a look at this thread: https://github.com/bigtreetech/BIGTREETECH-Relay-V1.2/issues/4#issuecomment-1924661118
