“TMC ‘stepper_z’ reports error: GSTAT: 00000001 reset=1(Reset) #61

Hello, I am retrofitting an SKR e3 turbo on a Chiron 3d printer. I am randomly getting On klipper: “TMC ‘stepper_z’ reports error: GSTAT: 00000001 reset=1(Reset) it freezes and asks for firmware_restart. (that could report after a reset on any other axis, and usually happens when it is in G1) for sanity check I flashed marlin and on Marlin the behaviour is different. No faults are reported , it doesn't freeze but it doubles the distances. When using Klipper, the rpi is connected on the usb port and not uart , but when using Marlin, nothing is connected to the usb port.

I have the same Issue, did you find a solution?

I even ordered a new SKR E3 Turbo, but it has exactly the same problem.

I was using this SKR E3 Turbo on a anycubic chiron printer. This one has a large Y stepper and dual Z. I tried new stepper cables on all axis, replaced the Y with a smaller stepper, assigned the 2 Z steppers on the same TMC and then on separate but had no luck. I moved the same board on my ender 3 printer and it works like a charm . I think the fact that there are 2 Z motors or a large Y stepper motor , they need the voltage increased which this board doesn't let you. PS. I also played with the current settings with no luck.

Interesting, so what board did you use instead? I have a Chiron too that I'm gonna Klipperize sooner or later.

The Printer I'm currently struggeling with is a Anycubic MegaX, and the problems are indeed always occuring on long Y moves, which is the biggest Motor and the Axis which has to accelerate the biggest Mass.

I moved to octopus v1.1 with tmc2208 for the chiron. No problems so far , but I haven't done an overnight print yet. I left the e3 turbo with the ender3 and seems to be working fine.

I have to new Ender 5 plus with new e3 turbo in both same error, all the time... Either Z or E in the error... What a shit card, so sick of this.

And bigtreetech say they can not do anything if not on Marlin. I use klipper. Will never get any more card from bigtreetech that is for sure :(

I am on the same boat. Ender 3Pro with dual Z. Either Z or E gives issue, Z more often than Z. Some prints (8 hours the longest since the "klipper-isation") complete fine, others fail with this error as early as layer 2. I noticed it happens on areas with with infill with consistent speeds (mine runs at 80mm/s)

I was having a similar issue. The resolution appears to have been a cable or two may have been loose and moving slightly during the print which may have created issues with the electrical signaling.

I hot glued all the connections on the board. Any other connections (e.g., fan wires connected with Dupont connectors near the print head) were replaced with soldered connections to make sure they are firm and unable to move during prints.
