[Q] BTT TFT35 V3.0 E3 firmware update gets to 99%, then switches off #2581

Your question or details you need. Please describe. Pretty much like the title says. I've tried multiple MicroSD cards (128 MB, 4 GB and a 4 GB partion on a 128 GB disk), the filename that seems to flash for me is BIGTREE_TFT35_V3.0_E3.27.x.bin. It triggers the firmware update, sometimes it goes very fast, sometimes it takes a little longer. But each time it will get to 99% and then just switch off. It will not continue with the icons or fonts (something it did do previously when I named it firmware.bin but then it didn't update the firmware). When I check the SD-card afterwards, the file hasn't gotten the extension .cur. When I try to switch on the screen without an SD-card in it, it will not even turn on anymore.

Any suggestions on how I can fully flash the firmware? I tried a USB stick but it just ignores that and stays black.

specify the device variant related to your question. BTT TFT35 V3.0 E3 on a Creality Ender 3 Pro

Additional context It's connected to a BTT SKR Mini E3 v3.0 running Marlin 2.0.9.3.

Nevermind, managed to figure it out. Don't attemt to flash BIGTREE_GD_TFT35_V3.0_E3.27.x.bin when you actually need BIGTREE_TFT35_V3.0_E3.27.x.bin... Note the _GD_ I had the wrong file and was renaming it.
