How to connect BL touch? #5

I cant find any information on adding a BL touch style probe. Where to connect the pins?

wolfiejp commented 5 years ago

did you find a solution to this ?

Dloranger commented 5 years ago

Yes, I have it all working on my printer.

you have to use one of the servo motor pins and one of the end stops connectors for power and the gpio pin. I never found any documentation so I had to hack my way into it. I think I commented the pins.h file I sent you in the other bug with the change to the pins behavior. Power and ground should be simple to figure out for what is convenient. I would have to tear open my setup to figure out the servo stuff as I just dont remember what I did there.

I know I followed one of the ant-labs wiring guides to figure it out alongside the schematics.

If I have time I will try to get a pinout for you, but its unlikely in the next week as I am very busy trying to get ready for a regional convention next week. poke me again if you dont hear from me after that

Ok buddy no worries, i'll keep plugging away at it but like you ive found very little info out there to help, im not as eager to go poking around with out instruction as i really haven't got a clue what im doing tbh,

Not done to bad tho as its only the BLT ive not set up yet,

i'll give you a shout next weekend if im still stuck

have fun at your convention

all the best

Best I can do, hopefully you can get it figured out from this.

Thanks. tbh im not sure which cables what in that pic lol

From the power led, first left (2 white wires) is the temp probe.

Below that is a yellow 3 terminal block, this is the 3 wire cable from the touch probe.

The next left 3 terminal block is the 2 wire cable. The bottom pin is unused on this one.

I will try to get a propper drawing done with the pins more closely labeled on a diagram

I haven't heard anything on this bug report for 3 months so I am closing it with the solution given, feel free to comment with actual signal names on a drawing if you are so inclined or need further help
