Following up on Merlin Best asking about green vs red laser, and Anouk Liberge about the oblique angle in underwater video from a towed benthic sled. 1) Green penetrates water better, is why is used? 2) oblique may be solved by LiDAR? Even the iPhones in recent years can scan distances and generate measurements, while moving. Trying to solve the problem with a 2 (or 4), lasers, green (or red), may be too difficult as Martin said--and perhaps should look to work with other laser inputs. An example: thttps://blog.fenstermaker.com/lidar-underwater/
Attendants of the WIO Benthic Imagery Workshop requested support for oblique angle area estimation. There are methods published how to estimate the area based on four laser points [ref]. This would require substantial work on the area estimation in the annotation tool and reports (as the area is not constant across the image).
