Instead of replacing the current image labelling mechanism, implement the new sidebar for the annotation tool as an additional way to create/see image labels.
Also update the documentation. Maybe remove the tutorial video and create written manual pages for both image label mechanisms. These are easier to keep up to date.
The manual page was created in the course of BiodataMiningGroup/biigle-core#88. It should be updated with the new image labelling procedure.
Now that we have defined an image label as an "annotation where the ROI is the whole image" and we have some users who already created and used image labels, we might think about an improvement of the image labelling procedure.
Idea: Image labels are attached to the image in the annotation tool and not the transect overview. Users can open a foldout with a list of all image labels attached to the image and add or remove labels there. The ability to add and remove image labels in the transect overview will be removed. This way the users can see and explore the full sized image to decide which image label to attach. In contrast to that the transect overview only shows image thumbnails that cannot be enlarged. This trades the speed for attaching image labels in the transect overview for the accuracy of attaching them after assessing the full sized image. The filter and display functionality of the transect overview can remain unchanged.
Ask the users for their opinion and which procedure they would prefer.
