design interstitial spalsh screen #43

this will be the default backdrop image, video, or animation that will be shown when the "Pause" toggle is pressed unless the user selects their own - 800x600

so far all of the submissions here could be generated on-the-fly by gStreamer (which even has dynamic effects it could mix in)

i had imagined that this interstitial to be the most artful aspect of the entire project (even if it were the only visually impressive piece of the project) because this will be the only part of av-caster that the viewers will see - there is nothing here yet that a first-year design student couldn't have banged out in an afternoon

i have not given much thought to any aspects of design yet but ideally it would be something with 3D, transparency, and dynamic lighting or camera effects - a seamless video or animated .gif would suffice but there are several gStreamer OpenGL plugins that i would probably look into if the time comes for me to design and create this myself

the interstitial image it is not a critical feature and it is not yet implemented so there is plenty of time for this
