The sidebar does a lovely job of indicating to the user which page of which document they are currently in, but only if that pages has citations. It would be nice if there were a way to do this when on a page with no citations.
As a design problem this potentially runs up against the current way to indicate citations that span pages. And would it be confusing to overload the sidebar, which is currently citation-focused, with general navigation state?
