Hypothesis

  1. I believe students will feel they are more able to execute certain treatment plans if they involve their mobile applications.
  2. I believe therapists will recommend the use of certain mobile applications that facilitate their treatment plans.

    Assumptions

  3. Students will more successfully execute treatment plans if they involve their mobile applications.
  4. Therapy treatments could be facilitated by mobile applications.
  5. Therapists would be willing to recommend mobile applications.

    User Story

As a student, I want to employ mobile technology into my treatment, So that I can stick to my plan.

As a therapist, I want to employ all means that encourage my patient to stick to their treatment plan, So that I can successfully treat my patient.

Functionality Proposal

We can’t build all of these apps, but can we act as a platform for their information. Could we partner with some of the good apps to have their info feed into our site? At minimum, we could have a spot that enables a user & therapist to see what mobile apps they are employing to facilitate treatment. It would be great to have more complicated integration, but I don’t think that has its place in a MVP.

I will look into these various apps & figure out which ones are good or not. There are a bunch for the iPhone & for Android. There are many pysch mobile apps & there will be more: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/14/health/feeling-anxious-soon-there-will-be-an-app-for-that.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all

When I was sketching the therapist profiles, I thought of a section that shows what psych apps they recommend.

Here is an example of how this might work:

Given that Dr. Parker sees Susan has trouble seeing the positive parts of her life, Then she tells Susan to begin keeping a gratitude journal & includes this in Susan's "Treatment Plan."

Given that Dr. Parker wants Susan to follow through with keeping a gratitude journal, Then she suggests to Susan that she use HappyTapper, a gratitude journal on the iPhone.

Given Susan uses HappyTapper to complete her homework to keep a gratitude journal, Then she inputs in her “treatment plan” that she’s completed her assignment.

Given Susan inputs in her “treatment plan” that’s she’s completed her assignment, Then she sees her progress bar fill up.

Given Susan inputs in her “treatment plan” that’s she’s completed her assignment, Then she is prompted to send feedback to her therapist.

This shows how we can use the apps, but not be partnered with them. I believe it wouldn’t compete with us, but rather facilitate our growth as it facilitates treatment progression. It also serves to extend our presence into the mobile space until we can develop in the mobile space.
