I was very interested to read about Joe Taylor’s history of the Taylors of Billinge on the website. My father was born and raised in Billinge, his name was Geoffrey James Taylor and was born in 1950. His father before him, my grandad, was William Joseph Taylor, who was born in July 1912, and I understand that his father, my g. grandfather was also called William Joseph Taylor. All I believe were born in Billinge. My grandad, William (known as Bill) had three sisters; Gwen, Gladys and Thelma. Unfortunately all are deceased now - my father the latest in 2022. I was wondering if my family might be related to the Taylors’ in the article, or if anyone recognises any of the above names and might be able to give any further history? I have little information regarding my paternal line. Bill Taylor worked at the brick works and lived on Belmont Avenue.
