Does Icmp transport belong in this charter? #4

The current charter says:

o Specification of green-oriented Network Quality Analysis (NQA) techniques, such as ICMP extensions for collection of environmental information.

I think this may be too early for such work. For instance, it is unclear to me if the ICMP protocol is the best transport for such information. Also, it is very unclear what the trust model or security mechanisms for relying on information carried in ICMP could be.

I'll concur. While ICMP isn't out of scope, it's certainly more specific than should be in the charter.

+1, I have same impression when I review this draft on behalf of OPS-DIR and agree to take it out from charter based on yesterday's discussion.
