Cannot fetch Gadget Spec in local Shindig server #251

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. create a new OpenSocial project
2. in "View settings", choose Type: HTML for Canvas view.
3. launch Apache Shindig
4. Run this application locally

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The application should run successfully, but it shows an Error popup saying:
"Fetching metadata failed.
Unable to retrieve spec for http://localhost:8080/demo.01/gadget.xml. HTTP
error 404"

Note: this issue is not always reproducible.

To Yoichiro,

I think this is a critical issue although I cannot reproduce it all the times.
Do you have any ideas of why it happens?

one possible cause for this cause:
the jetty service might be dead due to, for example, the eclipse is idle for a
very
long time, or whatever.

I already sometimes got same situation. Well, I guess that the reason is that
the
gadget runs before completing to deploy the context of the gadget...

because this issue is not always reproducible, I would like to lower its
