Add gnome-settings-daemon to the list of X clients to check #39

With a lightweight gnome environment, without gnome-panel or even
gnome-session but still using all the gnome infrastructure, the gnome
plugin does not detect it has to be run.

Adding gnome-settings-daemon solve the issue in our specific case and is
probably better choice than gnome-panel as it's lower in the stack.

Sorry, the timing was just bad for you: SVN just had a major rewrite of the 
entire
plugin infrastructure and of course your patch no longer applies.

Nevertheless the fix would be easy enough. So no reason to resubmit a newer 
patch.
We'll discuss implications of this solution, but I think it makes sense.
