If in an IP address we detect as en example an apache 2.4.7 running a CPE is generated for it which looks like: cpe:/a:apache:http_server:2.4.7

This features allows you to automatically see the CVE's (Vulnerabilities) associated with this cpe.

Example for cpe:/a:apache:http_server:2.4.7
