This is the pdf written by @dominiccooney, ported to markdown, with minor reformatting tweaks (mainly to work around lack of subscript/superscript).
Barring any error, there should be no change to the content, with the exception of the line 36, which introduces syntactic conventions.
Once we have this, I'm planning to remove the section "Suggested improvements" and turn it into a list of github issues.
