Scope like 1:10 and 1:1 selectable with p-channel MOSFET, or with Relay some kind of IO expander will be using because there's no 40 free pins available and the switching doesn't have to be fast (max 1Hz per ch) Dividing options:

Scope connect to the DUT input pin

50 ohm on the scope???

Input reverse protection???

IO Expander (40 I/O I2c, Totem pole output, 100kOhm pull up) : http://hu.farnell.com/nxp/pca9505dgg/ic-i-o-port-i2c-40bit-56tssop/dp/2212087?ost=PCA9505&iscrfnonsku=false&ddkey=http%3Ahu-HU%2FElement14_Hungary%2Fsearch
