I would like to see different events play out on harder difficulties. There could be catastrophic bug which would cause the sales to plummet down, or there could a problem with the manufacturing of your consoles which would make the returns of these consoles go up.

Random economic crisis (there are already events pre-programmed in game), Bad bugs after release, Problem in the console hardware which would cause returns, Mass ddos attacks on the servers. etc
Describe alternatives you've considered
Not really an alternative but like another idea related to random events, which would let you release a game during the polishing phase, it would be a gamble on whether it's a success or a complete failure such as Star Wars Jedi Survivor. Or even early access release during development phase such as BeamNG, which if you are in a difficult financial situation could help you get back on your feets or also completely fail.
Additional context
These random events of course wouldn't happen on lower difficulties.
