What is the targeted audience of the API ? Each can have a different usage of the API

End user :
favours EDAM to retrieve tools for his research
technological watch with last updated or last pushed (i.e. new) tools
Curators : must answer to the “what is missing?” question in addition to the update/delete functionalities e.g. finding tools that lack a license or publication
Institutes : favours Providers, Subdomains
Developer : needs to have an URL that can be inserted in its own web page. Also interested by metrology information (access, usage of tool, insertion into collections, etc.)

How to ask for “sequence analysis” and “bacteria” with the API ? Should this be reserved to the WebUI ?

Addition of an RDF endpoint ? (cf. Alban Gaignard demo)

For web services having some information about their status (monitoring).

Supporting wild-card in API queries could be nice
