GitHub "bio.tools" badge #490

GitHub supports badges that can embedded in the README.md file in any repo.

We could have a "bio.tools" badge (svg file linked to from the markdown), and perhaps provide a service (from bio.tools) that creates the markdown blob.

Here is an example of the README file with badges: https://github.com/research-software-directory/research-software-directory/blob/master/README.md

Great idea to create a bio.tools badge and export it in order to enable developers to make a link from their repo to bio.tools.

Mateusz explained me yesterday how to generate a Zenodo badge for RSAT, and we made it for the github repo rsat-code.

https://github.com/rsa-tools/rsat-code

I would be interested to add a badge for the RSAT suite entry in bio.tools.

What is not clear to me is whether the Zenodo badge points towards the generic DOI for RSAT, or towards a specific version.

https://zenodo.org/record/3629727

Should I edit the description of the release in order to have a generic title (source code for the Regulatory Sequence Analysis Tools) rather than a release-specific title (first github release of ...)?

you can make a badge that points to generic DOI (concept DOI) or specific version if you want.
