base perl packages: move to conda-forge? Who wants to maintain them?
We have a large stock of Perl packages not specific to life sciences in any way. They technically belong in CF. Someone would need to prepare the move (one-of script perhaps) and we would need to give CF maintainers for the packages as I understand.
Issues such as the dependency cycle(s) near the root of the perl dependency tree might require help from CF/core.
Knowing the overhead of splitting these into separate CF packages this seems like a pretty large project. My vote would be to move things on an ad-hoc basis as we have volunteers.
