Updated names of functions

@antgonza similar to https://github.com/biocore/metagenomics_pooling_notebook/pull/107 and https://github.com/biocore/metagenomics_pooling_notebook/pull/109, these changes are for code that doesn't exist in the main repo and doesn't have tests. We should close these and work with Justin to take in and review his modified metapool before accepting any of these changes.

I am going to merge this, since it is already pointing to biocore:dev and clears up the functionality needed for the tests to work.
