so we bumped into the edge case in which multiple projects are being processed by the same notebook, and they all have Plate 1
some BLANKS coincidentally happened to overlap between plate one of different projects.
we fixed it by concatenating the project_abbreviation. We should add that to the BLANK naming code lines in add_controls()
