URGENT HOTFIX: accidental tab caused indent error #246

I think this occurred when I added a docstring. That means current pip-able software is unaffected, but biom-dev may have problems until this is merged. Once merged biom-dev will pull the latest commit making this not an issue anymore.

@jrrideout Sorry for the delay, I hadn't realized this was still open. Added tests for all handlers.
