Fix the "flash of unstyled content" problem #129

This is a pretty universal problem, so IMO it's ok to assign low priority to this. But it'd be nice to think about, I guess.

Using CSS transitions (as with some of the controls in MetagenomeScope) might help in solving this.

Pretty similar to #108, but I think this is more of an aesthetic sorta issue whereas #108 is more on making sure that the users can't click stuff before the interface has fully loaded.
