Splash screens keep showing even though they're turned off #58

Even though the options are deactivated in the settings, I keep seeing the splash screens for the "New Persona" and "About" sections. What could cause this?

@fengsh27, the default for the splash screens is set to 'off', right?

@slobentanzer I think the default for welcome splash screen is 'on'.

@fengsh27 that one is actually less of an issue. What about the Persona screen? I can't seem to be able to get rid of it (e.g., it appears when you click on the sidebar in areas without a conversation tab).
