Accommodate minor update to taxonomy #9

Between last night and this morning, the NCBI Taxonomy database was updated in a way that breaks the test suite. This PR updates the expected output in the corresponding test.

The PR also includes some updates to CI: drop the legacy GitLab CI config, and update the Github Actions build matrix.
